Where'd You Go, Bernadette

I recently read this interesting novel called Where'd you go Bernadette by Maria Semple. I just couldn't stop reading it. I continuously read it even while having my breakfast and lunch and in the park where I take my evening stroll and finally completed reading the book before I went to bed.The story is jaunty and attractive. picture source: google images The book just gives you so much of information. It goes on and on, adding to lots of information is the eccentric character of Bernadette Fox. Bernadette who is an intelligent architect from LA who settles down in Seattle, yet her experiences in life let her grow blackberries in the basement of her home! Constantly concentrating on her 15 year old daughter Bee she just does everything she could do for her house and her daily life. She is very honest and loyal. Her loneliness perhaps made her disclose her personal life to Manjula Kapoor via e-mails. It'll be interesting to know who Manjula Kapoor is by reading this ...

Fear

Two days ago, I was standing in a long serpentine queue in the bank and was getting a little frustrated. Two women in their thirties were standing behind me and their chit chatting entertained me for a while. Few minutes later, I saw a poster on the wall near the last counter that read "what did you leave behind in 2011?" well it was regarding a charity work, the name which I apparently forgot...but I couldn't stop thinking about that question. What did I leave behind in 2011? On my way back home it occurred to me that I left behind fear in 2011! Fear of open and honest communication, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of judgement, fear of being wrong, fear of being victimised, fear of insult...Fear can be so destructive and to be honest I'm sick of it. Jealousy Rivalry Life

I always prefer to read classics. I was really blessed to have done my pre-university in SJRCW, the library there had these fantastic collection of classics in English and French...It has almost been a decade now and every book I had read then is making sense to me now. I do not remember the name of one such classic but would like to share it with u all in a short n sweet manner :) ... Infosys trip from our college

On 5th March 2011, 30 of us went to the SPARK program conducted by Infosys from our college ISiM. SPARK is an initiative for students   to enlighten students and prospective employees of the company.   We were late by an hour and we learnt about time management .With us were a college from Satara and a college from Kannur. In the session we learnt about the history of Infosys which was inspirational.   In between they screened videos titled as "Leader Speak"  from leaders like N.R.Narayan Murthy and Nandan Nilekani.  After a short tea break we re-entered the hall to know more about Finacle. The Finacle song in the end entertained us.Shortly we were accompanied by yet another college CMRIT who joined us as latecomers. Now we learnt about  a centre called PmCoe – Project Management Center of Excellence in Infosys, which has developed an approach called Project Think Approach.
