It's funny when you go to a movie unplanned, without reading reviews and it turns out to be the movie you have been longing to watch. I have to say, it was the best movie for me to watch and start this beautiful year 2014.

Living in the information age, big data and various software tools and techniques for digital image processing in my head since the past six-seven years, it was hard for me to believe that there could be a US magazine "Life" having a department for negative assets and a day dreamer man like Walter Mitty working there as a Negative assets manager. Honestly, it has been more than a decade that I have seen a negative film in our world, how about you? "Life" magazine's photo journalism plays a pivotal role in this cinema. Photo journalist Sean O'Connell (Sean Penn) works with Mitty but both have never met in person.Life magazine decides to go online and many of its employees are in jeopardy. The new MD (Adam Scott) is pretty harsh on Mitty.

It's been very long that I have related myself to a character in a movie. It's funny as I used to day dream a lot just like Mitty :).Walter Mitty(Ben Stiller) a man who is lost, picked on, mocked for his habit of zoning out into his own world of fantasies has a secret crush on his co-worker Cheryl Melhoff (Kristen Wiig) a newly single profile in eHarmony.com, it's just that Mitty doesn't have a colorful profile to fill with anything worthy that he's done in life. He packs his bags and sets off for an adventurous trail to find Sean O'Connell and get the negative film which is to be the cover of the magazine. From flying with a drunk pilot, diving into an ocean fighting sharks, escaping a volcano to climbing Himalayas and watch the ghost-cat with Sean, phew! an adventure indeed! guess what? Mitty's profile in eHarmony gets super popular. His connection to his past life with Papa Johns Pizza place that he finds in Iceland is pretty hilarious and sympathetic as he worked there after his father
died so that he could take care of
his mother and sister. However, I'm very curious to know if Ben Stiller can really do those tricks on a skateboard.
The best part of this enjoyable movie was that they have crafted the soundtrack for the entire movie in a very artistic manner. It's very apt to the emotions played. That moment where Mitty gives the "Quintessence" to his MD is the moment of glory in this movie. "The secret life of Walter Mitty" is a family-friendly, entertaining, must watch movie this month.
