Living in the IT world of Bengaluru we generally forget to reduce the impact on environment caused by us.The more the carbon is being let out into our atmosphere, the more it contributes to global warming. Even though we are educated and are working in the IT industry we do not care much about measuring our carbon footprint. By measuring the amount of carbon we release in each of our activities, we can cut down and reduce the carbon amount we leave into the atmosphere by taking some effective initiatives. Our city is known for its IT hub. The infrastructure of the various MNCs are very huge. Each building can go green by including some very useful and effective green measures such as rain water harvesting system, solar heaters, eco-friendly air coolers, minimising the usage of plastic, usage of solar buggy, cycles, usage of low energy consuming lights and daylight sensors. 1997 was a year of catastrophes for me.  I had already lost my paternal grandma in 96 and I lost my maternal grandpa in 97. I didn't know what was happening. My uncle was kind enough to understand  my mother's and my grief, so we left to my uncle's in October. The memory is still fresh in my mind. When my uncle's family picked us at the airport I was introduced to a petite and affectionate Bichaun Fris é   called "Raja". He jumped on me, licked my hands and feet, sat on my lap and licked my face. He brought a big smile on my face. We both just couldn't live without each other. Raja would curl up and sleep near my feet on bed. If he was not allowed to be on bed, I would sleep on the floor and he would sleep near my head. "ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂದಾಗ, ಕಾಲೆಲ್ಲಿದೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಮಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲು ಎಂದು ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯವಾಡಿ ನಕ್ಕರಲ್ಲೇ ಗೆಳತಿ! " ಮನುಜರಿವರೆ?" ಎಂದೆನಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಘೊಳ್ಳ್ ಎಂದು ನಕ್ಕು ಕಟಕಿಯಾಡಿ ನೋಯಿಸಿ ನಕ್ಕರಲ್ಲೇ ಗೆಳತಿ! ಕಳೆದ ಕೊಂಡಿಯ ಜೋಡಿಸಿ ಬೆಸೆಯಲು ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಕೈತಟ್ಟಿ ನಕ್ಕು ಸಂಬಂಧವೇನು ಎಂದು ಹಂಗಿಸಿದರಲ್ಲೇ! ಕಾಲನ ತುಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಡಿ ಹೋದ ಬದುಕು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆಂದಾಗ "ಕಾಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ ನಿನಗೆ" ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿಸಿ ಕಿಸಕ್ಕೆಂದರಲ್ಲೇ ಗೆಳತಿ! ಬೇಸಗೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಮಳೆಯ ತಂಪು ಸಿಂಚನಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಕ್ಷಣ ಮಾರು ಹೋದ ಮನ "ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂದಾಗ ನಕ್ಕರ್ಯಾಕೆ ಇವರೆಲ್ಲ? "ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂದಾಗ ನಡೆಯಲು ಕಾಲಿಲ್ಲದೆಯೂ, ಮನ, ಕಪ್ಪು ಡಾಂಬರು ರಸ್ತೆಯುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಹರಿದಾಡಿದ್ದೂ ಸುಳ್ಳೇನೇ ಗೆಳತಿ? ನೆತ್ತಿ ಚರ್ಮ ಸುಡುವ ಬಿಸಿಲಿಗೆ ದಪ್ಪನೆಯ ಮಳೆಹನಿ  ಭುಸುಗುಡುವ ಬಿಸಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಪನ್ನೀರ ತುಂತುರು ಹನಿ ಬೆವರ ಬಸಿಯುವ ಸೆಕೆಗೆ ತಂಪಾದ ಗಾಳಿ, ಮೈಮರೆಸಿತ್ತು, "ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ಗಾರಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯವೇಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು? ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ನಗೆ, ಬಿಸಿಲು ಮಳೆಯ ಕಾಮನಬಿಲ್ಲು ಮೂಡಬಹುದಲ್ಲ ಜೀವನದಾಗಸದಲ್ಲಿ! ಹಂಬಲಿಸಿ ಕಾದಾಗ ಬಿದ್ದೊಂದೆರಡು ಹನಿ, ಆಸೆಯ ಕೊನರಿಸಿ "ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ" ಎಂದಾಗ ತುಟಿ ಸೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾಡಿ ನಗು ಮುಕ್ಕಳಿಸಿ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದರೇಕೆ ಗೆ...

The beginning of the year 2014 was filled with worries and sadness for me. Every day was just passing by and I completed my part time job. I had nothing else to do other than taking care of myself. It hurts when you get injured because of something else and it was not your fault. Worries occupied me completely. One of my hobby is to paint. I started to paint but worries and sadness would not go away. Slowly arrived , the month of March. My parents called my uncle and aunt, we went out for lunch on my birthday, I was a little happy at that moment but started to feel low again.
