Jealousy Rivalry Life

I always prefer to read classics. I was really blessed to have done my pre-university in SJRCW, the library there had these fantastic collection of classics in English and French...It has almost been a decade now and every book I had read then is making sense to me now. I do not remember the name of one such classic but would like to share it with u all in a short n sweet manner :) ...
Two young, beautiful and gorgeous ladies always had a competition with each other, may it be their dressing, may it be in school or any small thing you could possibly think of. They always compared who won and who lost. People ridiculed them for their behavior and wondered what if they were to fall in love with the same man. And as their people fancied it, they both did fall in love with a young, handsome, smart, in other words the most eligible bachelor! He fell in love with one of them, spent a lot of time with her while the other lady was stupendously jealous of watching them both together. She started to distract him from her, held parties at their home and her father arranged a marriage for his daughter in hand with the handsome man.She lived with him in a different city, the couple were childless, and as they aged he passed away. The widowed lady calls her friend for his funeral to show her that she won in life by having a good married life with him. The disappointed friend who never married again comes to the widow's house to gives her condolences, they speak for a long time and the door bell rings...The widow opens the door to see a fine young lady who resembled her husband! she smiles to the widow bends down at the hallway and says "Mother, we're getting late, we should be leaving now". Yes, you guessed it right...she couldn't marry him but had a child with him. The widow and her friend hugged each other and said goodbye.
Yet one thing is to be decided...who won and who lost? The friend who snatched the guy n led a happy married life or the friend who had a child with him? You get to decide that...and this is a classic french novel( name forgotten)...
Reading opens you to so many things...you get to know  where the journey of your life is leading by the choices you make...
Concluding this blog here I would like to say that I'm proud to be called a "bookworm","geek", "nerd" and everythingelse you guys call me :)
It will be interesting if You can drop your comments on who won and who lost in the story...
with love

  1. I think every one's the lead in their life and so each one of us is a winner, as winning just means not to give up on life no matter how terrible or horrid life gets ... guess i have got very philosophical... but this is how i can justify that all of us are Winners as the two characters in the story won and conquered on their respective lives :)

Zodiac signs

Zodiac signs' dictionary meaning is: "an imaginary area of the sky containing the positions of the sun, the moon and the main planets, divided into 12 equal parts, named after 12 groups of stars. It is interesting to see how these stars effect the life of each individual living on Earth. This study of stars is an ancient science which rises curiosity in everyone. The study depends on the date of birth of the individual in the western countries and on the birth star in the Hindu astrology. The zodiac signs plays a vital role in match making and other aspects in Indian arranged marriage. Some people have strong beliefs in the forecast of these zodiac signs. However I do not believe in the predictions of the zodiac signs :) Jahnavi Participating in A to Z challenge
